Mr, L, A. George has aocepted the / position of president of the Wellington City Band. The death is recorded in a Press As- * eociation telegram^of Mr. E. C. Towle, aged 64 years, manager of the Bank of New South Wales, in Auckland for about twelve years. In March, 1912, he retired from the bank, after 35 years' Service. < The Hutt Bowling and Tennis Club is placing on record "its deep regret at the lamented death of Mr. Orton Stevens^ and at the great loss the club has sustained thereby ; also the high appreciation of the very valuable services rendered by him to the club since its formation." The Rev. George H. Gibb (son of the Rev. Dr. Gibb, of Wellington) was ordained to tho pastoral charge of the . Queenstown Presbyterian parish on Friday. Dr. Gibb preached the sermon and presided at the ordination. The Otago Daily Times says that the Rev. G. IE Gibb's career as a student at the Theological College Hall of Knox College, § Dunedin, was distinguished, and he gives every promise of an equally distinguished career in the service of the Church.
