DIAMONDS DEFEAT WANDERERS.

At Kilbirnie Park, Diamonds met Wantlereiß, and were the first +O press, and Webster had to kick out, a fruitle£« corner resulting. The Wanderers ru&hed downfield and gave the black defence an awkward time. Nice passing by the Diamond forwards brought the ball well into the Waaidorers' territory, and for a time it looked as though Webster must capitulate. But a tricky vind militated against accurate shooting. An abortive corner Ml to Diamonds, and later Webster brought off a fine eavo. Wanderers took up the attack, but the forward play was faulty, and the halves at times failed to feed their men. 'End to end play followed, both custodians having to clear. With the whole of the forwards on him Webster brought off a magnificent save. Towards the close of the first half Diamonds peppered away at Wanderers' goal, and at last Morrison got through. Half-time found Diamonds leading by 1 goal to nil. The second half opened sensationally, Levcrsedge scoring -vrithm two minutes. Roused by this reverse, Wanderers attacked vigorously, but faulty play in tho goal mouth robbed them of several chances. They pressed severely, a lightning shot by Haywood striking the horizontal. Towards the close of the match Diamonds rea&serted their superiority in passing, and gave the Wanderers' goalkeeper a busy time. Eventually Leakey got through and scored a third goal.
