WAIRARAPA PROTEST

At a meeting of the Wairarapa Rugby Union on Saturday night it was decided to support the protest of the Wanganui Rugby Union in connection with the method of selecting New Zealand teams, and that the Wanganui Union he informed that the "Wairarapa Union.sympathise with them ill their grievance and suggest, that the methods of election of selectors be altered so that they will be appointed by the delegates at the annual nieeting of the New Zealand Rugby Union instead of by the Managoment Committee of the Union as at present. The Wairarapa Union considered that this would also be an extia inducement to the smaller unions to send delegates to the annual meeting of tho New Zealand Union, instead of being represented by proxies as at present. The Wairarapa Rugby Union has artatiged for rejn'esentative matches to be played at the following places :—: — Against Canterbury, at Masterton, on 27th August. Against Otago, at Carterton, on 17th September. Against Taranaki, for Ranfurly Shield, at Hawera, on 13th August. Against Wanganui, at Wanganui, on 15th August. Against Manawatu, at Palmerston North, on 19th August.
