TOWN PLANNING

PROPOSED TREE PLANTING. An important' resolution having relation to town-planning will be moved by Mr. R. Fletcher at the next ineeting of the Wellington City Council. Mr. Fletcher has given notice to move as follows : — "That a scheme of street treeplanting bo inaugurated by the council with a view to beautifying the principal streets of the city, 'such as Lamb-ton-quay, Jervois-quay, FeatherstonBtreet, Molesworth-street, 'Uhorndonquay. and other streets as may be approved later, and that a joint report be obtained from the City Engineer and City Forester in regard to the same."

Mr. w. Held, second mate of the Hippie, signed off the vessels articles to-day.
