MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Mr. D. 0. A. Cooper, S.M., presided at (to-day's sitting: of the Magistrate's Court. John M'Luughlan, on a charge of drunkenness, was romauded for a weak for medical treatment, and John M'G'ormick, who was convicted, yesterday, was fined 10s. in default forty-eight hours in gaol. Mary Harding was lined £2, dciaulfc in this ease being fixed at Seven clays' imprisonment. {' Kitty O'Toolo, a young woman, was deemed to bo an idle and disorderly person, because she habitually consorted with women of ill repute. She was lined £1, default being fixed at seven days in gaol. Similar allegations were made against Dorothy Aubrey, Teonie .Rogers, and Alice O'Connor. They all pleaded not guilty. Aubrey, who appeared to be suffering- from the effects of drink, was remanded a week for medical' treatment. Rogers was sent to gaol for one month, and O'Connor was convicted and fined £2, in default one month* imprisonment. Andrew Scott was chargeel with tho theft of £15 from John M'Corrnack ' at' .Wellington, dn the 25th inst. He was remanded uniil next Wednesday.
