WAIROA'S DEMAND. (II TKIEGF.APH, -TRESS ASSOCIATION.) WAIKOA, This Day. At the annual meeting of the A. and P. Society last evening, Mr. D. J. Fleming, Mohakn, addressed membtirs on the subject of the East Const lailway, pointing out tho shnniotnl neglect of tho district in this respect, though admitting that the Government had treated Wairca fairly in the matter of grants for loads and bridges. He pointed out that there were now 33 lines under construction in both islands, while a trunk line was practically hung up, this notwithstanding that the Government promised four yeais ago that trunk lines blioulu get preference. The large meeting decided unanimously to demand that a start* bo made ftt Wairoa and work ho prosecuted north and south lo meet the lines advancing from Oisborno and Napier.
