MR. LLOYD GEORGE'S PROPOSALS DEFENDED BZ THE PRIME MINISTER: (By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright ,) LONDON. 26th June. In the House of Commons, during the discussion on the Finance Bill, the. Premier (Mr. Asqiiiih) defended Mr. Llojd George's (Chancellor of tho Exchequer) rinance proposals, but said that the time had come for a full enquiry into the system by which income tsx was levied, the Irw at present being a ghastly confusion of chaotic provisions. Mr. Bonnr Law (Leader of the Opoosition) taunted Mr. Lloyd George with surrendering to his lnilliohaire suppoit* ers, and denounced his methods of finance. lie had (said Mr. liotiai* La.w) broken every principle which past Liberal financiers regarded as essential. NATIONALISTS AND O'BRIENITES HEATED ALTERCATION. LONDON, 26th June. As members were leaving the House of Commons after the division 6n the Finance Bill,' the Nationalists taunted the O'Brionites (who voted with the Opposition), and a heated altercation ensued. ( •' The' parties threatened to com© to blows, but Mr. TVHliam Redmond (Nationalist) intervened, and restored peace.
