"You Will Be Astonished How It Removes Wrinkles."
Simplicity is the order of the day as regards beauty culture. Many women regularly^ visit the specialist to havo their wrinkles ironed out with the help of hot applications, cold creams, and massage. Most of us realise that there comes a time when aio amount of persuasion of this sort will avail. This process of "wrinkle removing" is wrong m principle. Both the hot water and the massaging tend to expand o.nd loosen the skin, besides softening the muscular foundation. The very opposite result should be aimed at. The tissue should be strengthened and the skin tightened to smooth out the wrinkles. For this purpose ordinary paxsidium jelly, obtainable at all chemktk, may bo used with beneficial effects. Get about one shillingsworth and apply like cold cream. The face will quickly look years younger. It is astonishing the number of women whose faces show a more or less pronounced growth of superfluous hair, and it is much to bo regretted that through ignorance, or wrong treatment, the majority of them havo made matters considerably worse by causing the hairs to grow more quickly and stronger than before. It only requires a little thought to realise the folly of it all. Removing the surface growth for a few days may givo temporary relief, but in order to obtain, permanent results, the hair roots must be killed. Caustic depilatories are worse than useless, and on no account should the hairs be pulled
out. Apart from the electric iraadle, which ie a costly and painful process, any chemist will tell you that the lnoab reliable home treatment is pur© powdered pheminol, This substance Ikus a. devitalising effect upon the hair Toots, in addition to which it remove* all trace of the objectionable hair in a fow seconds. The recommended treatment gradually, but surely, dissolves out the hair follicles, which is the only jnethod of permanently ridding ormelf of thi« embarrassing disfig vr oment. How often do you see 'on© of the old-fashionedl powder pote on your friend's dressing table? Not very frequently I wn Bute. They are fast being converted: to a mom useful purpose. The truth of the matter is, Women at© at last beginning to Tealifio that powder is the "root of all evil" as far as their complexions are concerned, at any rate, amd are w»ely discarding the powder puff for that ordinary innocemVlooking substance known as cleminite. What they do i» to obtain about an ounce from their chemist and dissolve it in four tablespoanifuls of water. THus gives a lotion Avhioh immediately imparts a delightful bloomy appearance to the skin; removes that horrid greasy appearance, and renders powdwiiig quite unnecessary. The result laste sill day long under the most trying coiftdi* tione, and what is far more important, improves the complexion instead of ruining it.
