SOUTHERN MARKETS

(BY TBLEORAPH.—riiKSS ASSOCIATION.) CHRISTCHURCH, 26th June. The wintry weather during the week has put a temporary check upon business between fanners and merchants, and there is therefore no business to report in the local grain market. Tho oatsheaf chaff trade is practically confined to town requirements, as very little shipping is being done. For the latter purpose £2 5s is offered without finding sellers. The potato market keeps fairly firm, and for delivery towards the end of July £3 at country stations is offered, and for immediate delivery £2 15s is still the ruling price. Tho weather will, however, prevent deliveries except out of stores, where there are large supplies. For early seed potatoes £4 15s and £5 is offered, with very little demand at present.
