Silba Is still in command of the Otaki (now at Auckland), with Mr C. K. Pans as chief officer, and Mr E. Kanßou second. Dr. H. L. Widdowßin is ship's surgeon, My. J. Williams chief engineer, Mr J. Robertson chief refrigerating engineer, Mr. F. F. O'Halloran wireless operator, and Mr H. Willis chief steward. The Otaki brought 6800 tons of general merchandise from London, 6iOO tons of which will be discharged at Auckland, and the balance at Wellington, for which port Bhe sails towards the end of next week. PERSONAL. The friends of Captain Clifford, of the Ruftl pthu, will learn with pleasure that he has again rejoined his vessel. On account of illhealth Capfoin Clifford remained in Londoh during the Ruapehu's previous voyage. Captain Hiimand took charge ot the Kaiapoi to-day in place of Captain Doorley, who is awaiting orders. TE HORO A very fine public hall, erected at Te Horo by public subscription among the residents in that district, was officially opened last evening by a concert and dance (writes a correspondent). There was a large attendance, inclueU ing Mr. Robertson, M.P. for the district. Tlie building is situated on the main road, opposite Te Horo Railway Station ; it measures 60ft by 30ft, and has a fine stage, 12ft deep, running the whole width of the main building. The cost was about £600. It is lit through* out with Dreadnought gas. The commit' tee appointed by the settlers is as follows : — Messrs. 0. J. Spiers (chair* man), D. Mitchell, H. Wmdley, GeY Cately, J. Best, Eli Allen, and Geo. Glackin, with Mr. J. Draper' as custodian. ■ / In addition to the hall, a first-class accommodation house is being erected in the same locality, Te Horo is fast becoming a thriving township.
