A _ deputation of women fiom the Political Labour League's Conference urged upon Mr. Holman (the State Premier) the claims of women to participate_ in the activities ot political and municipal life, antl also as nominees for the Upper House. * The Premier promised Ministerial consideration of tho Upper House suggestion. In regard to women sitting in the State Assembly and in municipal councils. Sir. Holman said that the Government intended to bring the Constitution into line with those of the more advanced States. The aim of the democracy, he added, was to extend tho range of choice in oidcr lo allow elect ots to say whether they nlioukl be icpie* seated by a man or a woman,
