Graham beat Taylor, 2 up and 1 to play; Herreshoff beat Platt, 4 and 3; Ball beat Wood, 7 and 63 Wetier beat Carlisle, 7 and 6; Aylmer beat Pease, 6 and o. Third Round.— Hilton beat Harris, 2 and 1 ; Hayward beat Lockwood, 2 and 1; Evans beat E, Scott, 3 and 2; Carr. beat Worthington at the nineteenth hole; Read- beat. A. Hambro, 1 up; F. S. Jackson (the famous cricketor) beat Renwick ab the nineteenth hole; Lockhart beab Whibton, 6 and 5 ; Blackwell beab Walker, 6 and 4; Graham beat E. Smith, 4 and 3 ; Slichael Scott beat Herrcshoff, 1_ up ; Captain Hambro beat Ball at the nineteenth hole ; Stubbs lot Littlestone) beat Onimet (of America), 2 vp } Gillies beat Weaver, 7 and 6 ; Tubbs beat H0w0,%3 and 1; Captain Hutchinson beat Aylmer, 3 and 2; Macfarlane beat W. Slurray, 3 and 1 ; Weber beat Marriott, 2 up ; Apperley beat Serguson, .4 and 3. _ Stubbs, who has played little competitive golf lately, played an excellent game to within the last few holes. He developed nerves towards the clobo, but steadied at the seventeenth hole. Ouimet played elackly, and did not seem to lufc hard enough. Thero was a great ovation as Stubbs fccrambled home. Ball and Haanbro kepb together all the. way. Ball was 1 up at the turn, but Hambro squared at the fourteenth hole. LockhaTt was 1 up at the turn and dormy 2, but Whitton won the last 2 holes, thus squaring the scores. Subsequently, after halving at the nineteenth hole, ho last tho twentieth. Slichael Scott went out in 36, and turned 3 up. Herreshoff being 4 down with 5 to play, won the next 4. but his approach to the last hole was too strong, and Scott went down 4 to 5 and won. Apperley jtnd Gillies had easy vietorie6. • To-morrow, Gillies meets Graham. Both arc strong favourites.
