. 'MID-WEEK MATCHES. ' TRAMWAY (3) (3). Tramway met Artillery. on the Athlelic Park yesterday, a drawn game resulting. At the outset neither side showed to much advantage, but later Tramway began to attack with vigour, and a breach of the rules gave them a free-kick in a good position. Algar took the kick and goalee! Tramway 3, Artillery 0. This was the only score in the first half. Upon, resumption 1 Tramway were continually the aggressors, but were unable to score. Artillery were enabled to equalise through a penalty kick, Owles placing a good goal. The end of the game saw tpe scores Unaltered. Mr. C. Roskruge was referee. " l PETONE (20) v. ORIENTAL, (0), Playing at Petone, Petone galloped over Oriental to the tune of 20 points to nil. The defeated fifteen were handi- , capped through having a bis leaven 6f new 'and inexperiencecl- blood. '" Ned !> Perry played a sterling game for- the visitors until he had to retire through an injury to his hip. Petone, who were aided by Nun'n, Wynyard, and Madden, had little difficulty -in disposing of their opponents. Tries were scored by Haganj M'Ewan, Nunn, Madden, Tressider, and another. Corsoti converted one. Mr. H. Card was-, ref eree. , RU.GBY UNION. VISIT FROM NATIVE TEAM. . The Management Committee of the Wellington Rugby Union, which met last evening, accepted an offer of Mr. W. T. Parata to bring a team composed solely of Natives to play againsb a Wellington representative team on 3rd June. The committee also approved of tho dates fixed at the annual conference of the New Zealand Rugby Union for the representative matches between Wellington and the other centres.
