CRICKET PRESENTATION

BOYS' LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP,' The presentation of the Champions.iip Cup and medals to the members of the United Methodist cricket team, win ners-'of tho Boys' League junior competition, took place in Trinity Schoolroom last evening, the Rev. J. Ward presiding. Mr. J. A. Martin read a report of tho record the team had put up, after which Mr. Walton, president of the Boys' Cricket League, made tho presentations. In doing so ho congratulated the players on their splendid performance, and urged them to continue to play the game in the proper Bpirit, and^ throughout life to play the man. Mr. F. M'Cluskey, secretary of tho League, also offered his congratulations. The speakers briefly outlined the objects of the league. A special medal donated by Mr. Ryan ,for the boy securing tho best bowling average in the junior grade was won by H. Tonks. On behalf of the winning team Mr. Martin responded. During the evening items were rendered as follows ; — Pianoforte duet, Messrs. M. Dixon and P. Miller; songs, Misses G. Dawson and Ward and Messrs. A. L. Wall and D. Jones; humorous bongs, Mr. W. Millierj humorous recitations. Miss N. Noes and Messrs. G. Peek and H B. Cooper } instrumental duet, Messrs. C. Spearman and A. Moore j tenor horn solo, Mr. J. /■Tidinan. Miss D. Varney, Mrs. Ward, and Mr. Dixon played tho accompaniments.
