PRIVATE BILL. IN THE MATTER of a proposed Bill or Act intituled " An Act. to Amend the Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885." ■pURSUANT to the Standing Orders of •*• tho House ol Representatives relating to Private Bills, the Presbyterian Church Property Trustees (the intending- petitioners^ givo noiico that within fourteen days ot the meeting of the General Assembly of New Zealand (o bo hold next after the dato of this notice, a Petition Will bo presented to the General Assembly of Now Zealand through the Honourable the Speaker and Members of tho House of Representatives, by thorn, praying- and applying for leave to bring in a Privato Bill, to be called " Tho Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885, Amendment Act. 1914." THE objects of the said application and Bill are as follotf:— (a) TO provide that any person may givo, devise, or bequeath to tho Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, and that \it shall De deemed lawful for tho Trustees to have heretofore acquired and hereafter to j acquire any property for the establishment, maintenance, and administration of educational or charitablo ] institutions of any nature whatso- i ever of of any fund, institution^ or j organisation having for- ita object, the spiritual, social, or physical im provemont of the inhabitants of the Dominion of New Zealand. (b) TO provide tkat any property ac- ' quired by tho said Trustees by gift, purchase, or otherwise for any of the said funds, institutions, or organisations shall be held by them upon trusts to be declared by _ the donors of such property, and failing a declaration of trust upon trusts to be declared by tho General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. (c) TO provide that the said Trustees for the furtherance of any of the objects of the said flinch, institutions, or organisations shall from time to time, with tho consent of the said General _ Assembly, have the power of selling, mortgaging, exchanging, or leasing any property vested in them upon trust for any of the said funds, institutions, or organisations, of raising money by debentures, and of investing nny moneys held by thorn for any of the said funds, institutions, or organisations. (d) TO provide that tho_ said Trustees stall nave power, subject to the eXistiug rights of any person or persons and on the direction of the said General Assembly, to amalgamate the Aged, and t Infirm Ministers' Fund and tho Widows and Orphans Fund. (c) TO provide that any person, persons, or body corporate holding any property _of ahy fund, institution, or organisation as aforesaid may be empowered to convey and assure such property to tho said Trustees subject to the trusts upon which Ruch person, persons, or body corporate shall hold the same. (f) TO provide that Section 6 of tho second schedule to " The Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885," may be amended by adding at the end thereof tho Words ■" or may bo invested in manner set out. hi Section 95 of tho Trustee Act, 1908." (g) TO provide that Section 8 of tho second schedule to "The Presbyterian Church Property; Act^ 1885," may be amended by ittsortihg between the words "of" and "building " in the third lino of the snid section tho words " acquiring any bind foi 1 tho purposes of any particular congregation or of." A copy_ of the said Petition and Bill will be deposited in the Office of tho Examiner of Standing Orders within fourteen days after the commencement, of the said Session. < Dated this 11th day of May, 1914.
