MAGISTRATE'S COURT
Four first-offenders were convicted of drunkenness by Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.. to-day. John M'Callnm and Kathleen O'Connor, who were similarly charged, were fined 20s and 8s respectively. Thomas Reeves, thirty-six times previously convicted, was sent to gaol for twenty-one days on a charge of using obsceno language. William Craig, who yesterday approached the police with a request to be locked up. us he was afraid of himself or of other people injuring him, [ was remanded a week on a charge of ' helpless drunkenness, For creating a breach of the peace, Thomas James Rimtner was fined 20s> with the alternative of seven days' imprisonment. Default was ti.\ed at fortyeight hours' military detention. A prohibition order wttk issued against T. Round. In a judgment summons case, Joon Cotton v. George Simmons, a claim far £6 6s 6d, defendant was ordered to liquidate the debt by 3rd June, in dot fault to sovve seven days in gaol,
