PRIVATE BILL. IN THE MATTER of a proposed Bill or Act intituled " An Act to Amend tho Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885." PURSUANT to the Standing Orders of tho House of Representatives relating to Private Bills, tho Presbyterian Church Property Trustees (the intending petiturners^ give notice that within fourteen days ot the meeting; of the General Assembly of New Zealand to be hold next after the date of this notice, a Petition will bo presented to the General Assembly of New Zealand through the Honourable tho Speaker and Members of tho House of Representatives, by them, praying and applying for leave to bring in a Private Bill, to be called " Tho Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885, Amendment Act, 1914." THE objects of the said application and Bill are as follow:— (a) TO provide that any person may give, devise, or bequeath to tho Presbyterian Church Property Trustees, and that it shall t>e deemed lawful for the Trustees to have heretofore acquired and hereafter to acquire any property for tho establishment, maintenance, and administration of educational or charitable institutions of any nature whatsoever or of any fund, institution, or organisation having for its object tho spiritual, social, or physical im« provemont of the inhabitants of the Dominion of New Zealand. (b) TO provide that any property acquired by the said Trustees by gift, purchase, or otherwise for any oi the said funds, institutions, or organisations shall be held by them upon trusts to bo declared by the donoi-B of such property, and failing a declaration of trust upon trusts to be declared by the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. (c) TO provide that the said Trustees for tlie furtherance of any of the objects of the said funds, institutions, or organisations shall from time to time, with the consent of the said General Assembly, havo the power of selling, mortgaging, exchanging, or leasing any property vested in them upon, trust for any of the said funds, institutions, or organisations, of raising money by debentures, and of investing any moneys held by. thorn for any of the said funds, institutions, or organisations. (d) TO provide that the said Trustees stall have power, subject to the ex- > isting rights of any person or persons and on the direction of the said , General Assembly, to amalgamate the Aged and Infirm Ministers' Fund and the Widows and Orphans Fund. (o) TO provide that any person, persons, or body corporate holding any property of _ any fund, institution, oi' organisation as aforesaid may be empowered to convey and assure such property to the said Trustees subject to tho trusts upon which such person, persons, or body corporate shall hold the same. (f) TO provide that Section 6 of the second schedule to "The Presbyterian Church Property Act, 1885," may be amended by adding at tile end thereof the words " or may bo invested- in manner set otit in Section 95 of tho Trustee Act, 1908." (g) TO provide that Section 8 of the second schedule to " The Presbyterian Church Property. Act,. 1885," may be amended by inserting between the words " ot " and "building " in tho third lino of the said section tho words " acquiring any land for the purposes of any particular congregation or of," A copy of tho said Petition and Bill will bo deposited in the Office .of tho Examiner of Standing Orders within fourteen dayß after tho commencement of tho said Session.
