PROTECTION OF ANIMALS
At a meeting of the Society for the Prevention! of Cruelty to Animals held last evening, the following donations were acknowledged : — F. W. Rowley and Briscoe and Co., Ltd., £1 10s each; A. 11. Inspector Seed, who has now retired, submitted his final report, which dealt with several cases of alleged cruelty. One of these is to be referred to the society's solicitors. The new inspector (Captain J. Henry) was introduced to members. Captain Henry said he would endeavour to follow in the footsteps of Mr. Seed.
