At 44ft tho reof was worth £1 0s 4cl por ton and 2fb wido, and at 53ft £1 3s lOd for lft. Edward lodo south.— The west section of lode. hm been driven on from 480 ft to 517H, and assay values ranged as follows:— At 478 ft, worth £1 15s lid pel ton ; 484 ft, £2 9s Id ; 489 ft. £1 8s Id : 498 ft, £3 18b lOd ; 503 ft, £3 12s 8d ; 600 ft, £1 15s 6d ; 516 ft, £7 7b 3d, width of reef ranging 1 from 24ft to 6 ft. In tho crosscut values ranged from 9s 4d to £1 18s 4d per ton. lho main or east section of lode ae*ai>ed from 13b 2d to £6 7b lOd per ton. No. 4 shaft has been sunk to 1289 ft Irom the surface. A portion of tho chamber on north side has been excavated.
