The report for the four weokß ended 14th March states that tho Dreadnought reef, No. 11 lovol, was 24ft wide at 60ft, and assayed £1 7s 6d per ton. Values then declined to la 8d per ton at 120 ft but a. considerable amount of water was flowing _ from tho face. Westward the values varied from £1 2b lid per ton at 2ift in width, to 2s 4d per ton. At 50ft a cvobbcut was put in 94ft, and Values ranged irom 4s 8d per ton to £1 12s 6d. At No. 10 level, the Royal lode is 13ft wide and worth 4s per ton. Tho crosscut at 787 ft was extended from 66ft to 81ft along- tho course of a branch vein, which at 71ft is 21in wide and wae worth. £1 3s 5d per ton. At ' 81fb another body of quartz was mot. It is 3iffc wide, and worth 10s Id per ton. Driving was clone north on this 19ft, and 10ft is 28in wide, worth £2 12s lOd por ton, and at 19ft, 2ft wide, worth £1 Ob Id per ton. Driving was dono south 56ft, ami values ranged irom 4s 5d to £1 13s 7d per ton. The Dreadnought lode, south branch, east of 626 ft point tho levol has boeti extended from 170 ft to 222 ft, with the following results: — At 175 ft, worth £4- 6s 4d per ton; 185 ft, £11 16s 5d j 190 ft, £6 Is lid ; 197 ft, £2 3b 2d ; 202 ft, 9s 8d ; 206 ft, 18s; 216 ft, £1 4s Bd. The width of reef ranges Irom 3ft to sft. Main section, Maxim pans.— The wiiize is down 91ft. Tho valuo at 38ft down is £1 16 a lid pcn 1 ton, with 3ft of reef exposed and south wall only seen. At 453 ft east, Carbine Puss has been commenced und sunk 17ft. Tho valuo at 10ft down is £4 4s 2d per ton, 3ft across lode, with north wall seen. On tho Empire lode tho Bath pass is down 65ft. The winzo started in payablo mtnrts, but from 10ft down to the present bottom littlo or no values wero obtained. Wost of No. 2 shaft, Routh-east, cross-cut, tho level was extended from 39ft to 54ft. At 44ft tho reof was worth £1 0s 4cl por ton and 2fb wido, and at 53ft £1 3s lOd for lft. Edward lodo south.— The west section of lode. hm been driven on from 480 ft to 517H, and assay values ranged as follows:— At 478 ft, worth £1 15s lid pel ton ; 484 ft, £2 9s Id ; 489 ft. £1 8s Id : 498 ft, £3 18b lOd ; 503 ft, £3 12s 8d ; 600 ft, £1 15s 6d ; 516 ft, £7 7b 3d, width of reef ranging 1 from 24ft to 6 ft. In tho crosscut values ranged from 9s 4d to £1 18s 4d per ton. lho main or east section of lode ae*ai>ed from 13b 2d to £6 7b lOd per ton. No. 4 shaft has been sunk to 1289 ft Irom the surface. A portion of tho chamber on north side has been excavated.
