PALMERSTON ITEMS

(UT TELEGRAPH.— SPECtAt, TO THB POST.) PALMERSTON N., This Day. The Anglican Church held a successful garden fete yesterday in aid of the church building funds. The fete was largely attended, and a substantial amount was raised. Numerous objections are being received against the Palmerston-Kairanga River Board's classification. Saturday is the last day on which such protests can be sent in and the Stipendiary Magistrate will then appoint a day for hearing the objections. Hon. James Allen visited Palmerston North to-day and inspected the accommodation at the Campbell-street School. The school has become too small to meet requirements and more accommodation •or a new school was asked for.
