The Frankfort Gazette regards the abstention of Germany from taking part in the San Francisco Exhibition as a mistake. The Government, it says, has been chiefly influenced by the iron and steel indusiHes. However, the claim of the textile and other industries should Lave received greater consideration. Herr Ballin declares that €he Government's refusal to participate in the San Francisco Exhibition is a serious mistake. He will endeavour to arrange a large representative exhibit without Government aid. Many textile manufacturers also complain of the aUfltude taken up by the Government. The Times says that the Government is extremely ill-advised in refusing to participate in the Panama Exhibition.
