The steamer Orontes' passengers include Mr. Walker, managing director of the Papuan Industrial Company, Ltd. He states that the company is an enterprise comprising Christian business men whose object is to benefit and uplift the natives. The whole of the profits, after payment of a maximum dividend of 5 per centum on the capital subscribed, will be applied to educational, charitable, and missionary work. During his visit to England he had secured £12,500 capital, which was sufficient to meet immediate needs.
