Boot manufacturer have decided t> increase prices from 5 to 10 per cent immediately. The chief cause i"s the high price cf hides and leather, vhich is a r»rord fcr Australia, due mainly to the enormous increase of exports, which were value 1 at £456.000 in 19 .0 against £1,007.0C0 for 1912. Moreover, the Wages Board awaid has increased the wages of female fa> tory workers by 12^ per cent.
