UNITED LABOUR PARTY
DOMINION EXECUTIVE COUNCIL. A meeting of the Dominion Executive Council of the United Labour Party was held in Wellington to-day. The president (Hon, J. T. 'Paiil, M.L.C.) presided, and there was a good attendance. It was decided to prepare and issue a* circular on the question of Stato fire insurance to all unions. Preliminary arrangements were, made for the coming municipal campaign and elections. The council placed on record its very high appreciation of the work of the Labour members of both Houses during tthe session. In view of certain published sta'te'inents it was resolved— " That nb person, is authorised to act in the capacity of organiser for the party, except he is a member of this council or is appointed by, and reports to, and acts -under the direction of, the national iorganiser as the agent of this party. Mr. Thomas (Walsh, of Auckland, has never been so' appointed, and does not occupy any such position." , It .was also agreed— "That the Dojninion Executive Council of the United Labour Party definitely affirms that neither the voice of Labour (Auckland) .jjpr any other paper in New Zealand has any authority to speak editorially on beJj|lf of this, party in matters of the present industrial troubles at k Waihi or ©•j any other questions, and that all ol.n'dal declarations and announcements of the party are now made through the -columns of those papers which have granted space to the party, and are ■published in all cases tinder the party's official heading." , A large amount of routine business .was transacted, and the reports show considerable accessions of strength re"sc|ntly gained.
