The death is announced of Admiral Sn 1 Hugo Lewis Pearson, late Com-mander-m-Chief at the Nore, and formerly (1898-1901) Commander-inrChief on the Australian Station; aged sixtynine years. [Admiral Pearson joined the Navy in 1855,- and 6erved In turn on His Majesty's ships Brunswick, Liffey, St. George, Victoria and Albert, Pelortia, and Scylla, was Commander of the Lord Warden, bearing the flag of Sir Hastings Yelverton, commanded the St. Vincent and the Royal yacht OBborne, was Flag-Captain to Sir William Dow ell on the China Station., Captain of the Colossus and Excellent, Naval Aide-de-camp to Queen Victoria (189285), and Captain of the Collingwood and Harfleur; Real-A dmiral in the Reserve Fleet in manoeuvres and at Spithead in the Jubilee Meet. From 1898 to 1901 he was Commander-in-Chief on the Australian Soation.J
