Mr. Brown, M.P., at the request of a deputation, made representations to the PostmasterGeneral on the subject, but Mr. Ell has replied regretting that he cannot see his way to reinstate the poundage, cs the expense of making the collection aud allowing credit to holders is so heavy, materiaDy reducing the amount collected for postages.
