(Received May 6, 9.30 a.m.) LONDON, sth May. The wool sales closed with a large attendance, and competition was keen. Coar&a crossbreds were very keen at average-January rates. Fine medium croesbreds 5 to 10 per cent, cheaper; scoured slipes 5 per cent, advance. All merinos closed strong at 5 per cent, dearer. Lambs—Good supply; merinos advanced 5 per cent, crossbreds at January best level rates. There were catalogued 269,387 (?) bales, of which number 141,000 were sold for the Home market; for the Continent, 100,000; United States, 12,000; held over, 19,250 bales.
