Paring the • voyage of the Portuguese steamer Africa, 5515 tons, carrying 203 European passengers and four hundred negroes in. the hold for the cocoa plantations, a black, seven feet high, and of giant strength ran amok. With a heavy axe he killed six negroes and J wounded eighteen. He escaped into the hold, and killed two Europeans and wounded five others before he was fatally shot.
