BOISTEROUS WEATHER.
AUCKLAND, 21st March. ' Although (he boisterous weather which was predicted has not yet reached Auckland, a gale of exceptional severity has been raging on tho coast for tho last two days. A number of small coastal vessels are sheltering till the weather moderates. METHODIST UNION. NEW PLYMOUTH, 21st March. The fecretaiy of the Union Committco of the Primitive Methodist Church rcpoits that tho voting received from the whole of tho stations in the Dominion Hi connection with the- vote of members of that Church, taken in accordance with the instruction of the last conference, resulted iv 1477 votes being recorded for and 260 against. Tho. vote- has been taken on the strict babis of membership of society meetings only. The conferences of both Churches having approved of the basis, the Union Committee of the Piimitive Methodist Church will meet in Wellington on 3rd April to take the necessary steps for securing tho consent of tho British Conference to theunion, which is expected to be consummated next- year.
