Proof of the popularity of the Central Mission Silvei Band was evident last evening, when the large Wesley Hall in Taranaki-street was filled. The occasion was the annual concert of the band, and the musicians acquitted themselves with credit. The selection, 1 "El Dorado," and the inarch, "Constellation," . two very old favourites, were specially 'well rendered. Songs were Bung by Messrs. T. C. Newton and Phipps and elocutionary items- were contributed by Misses Arnold, and Lennox, Rev. E. O. Blamiree, Masters, E. and W. Tonks, and Lenord Power. All the items were very well received, and many were encored. The recently formed glee party of the band gave several selections, their "Laughing Chorus" being very amusing. Thanks are due to Mr. J. W. Carr, who played the accompaniments.
