SITTING AT PALMERSTON NORTH. A LIGHT CALENDAR. [BY TELEGRAI'H-i-I'iIESS ASSOCIATION.] PALMERSTON N., Tn"is Day. The Supreme 'Court sessions opened before the Chief Justice this morning. The criminal calendar was- a light one, there being only four charges of a minor character. His Honour congratulated the district on the comparative immunity from crime. A true bill was returned against Patrick M'Cafferty for assault and causing actual bodily harm. Accused, who was a cabman, was found guilty of the assault, which consisted in kicking another cabman and breaking his jaw.
