MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
Dr. M'Arthur, S.M., presided at the Magistrute s Court to-day. Heflfv Leddy Was bouvicted and diicharged for drunkenness, , and a penalty of 20s Was lfdpoked on Robert M'Namarfi. for a like bflerice. Six first offenders were convicted and discharged, and two others had their bail (10s e&ch) dßtreated. Janies W. Mack, charged With obscenity at Lyall Bay on the 28th ihst., Was further remanded until Wednesday. Ball was allowed as bafore A sentence of one month's imprisonment was imposed on Michael AylWafd fj»t disobedience of a maintenance order. It was alleged against Norman Beginaid .Smith, Sydney Hunter, and John faithful that they were idle and dis» orderly persons, the grounds for the allegations being that they had insufficient means of support, and had habitually consorted with reputed thieves. Each was sentenced to throe mouths' imprisonment. In • Faithful's case the information relating to insufficient m«ari» oi support Was dismissed, it being proved thtit he had been Working during the" past few months, Mr, Horace Baker, J.P., presided over this morning's sitting of the Mount Cook Police Court, and dealt with tho followltig casosi oi drunkenness <— Peter Munchoy was sentenced to ono mouth's imprisonment, for being an habitual drunkard, John M'lvinnon, Robert Bell, John Flanagan, George Harris, and three firstoffenders wore each fined 6b, with the option of twoiity-four hours' detention. One first-offender was mulcted in the sum of 10s, tho i alternative being fixed at fortyeight hours' imprisonment, and .another was convicted and discharged*
