CORINTHIANS (3) v. WANDERERS (1). Prior to the boys' representative match ofl the Basin Reserve, a senior Charity Cup fixture, Corinthians v. Wanderers, was played on the came ground. Neither team displayed much ability, and the game was a very poor exhibition. It was livened up at times by some brilliant work on the part of Ives, who was the life and soul of Corinthians' vanguard. Play was very disjointed, and the crowd, all impatient for the boys' match, were heartily glad when the game came to an end. OorinthialW Won by three goals to one, and were the better team. All their goals were netted by Iveg. Wanderers' goal was shot by Hughes. Mr. B. L. Salmon was referee. ROVERS (1) v. ST. JOHN'S (0). St. John's were qirite Outclassed in their match, against Rovers at Duppa* street, and left the field beaten by seven points. The losers' principal weakness was in their defensive tactics, and then, again, bad shooting was to fault. The first goal came Rovers' way after about five minutes' play, and they found no difficulty in nettirig two more in the first half. Now and then St. John's made determined but ineffectual attempts to score, but erratic shooting proved their downfall. fThe second half saw better work on St. John's part, but to no avail, four more goals being scored against them.
