SMALL BIRDS PEST.
TO TttS KDITOB. j Sir,— l see by the newspaper report on the small birds pest that the owls get among the nests of the birds at dusk and either destroy them or so frighten them that they leave the district. If an owl can have thus effect on a, fieet it is perfectly clear that its influence on the bird must be appalling, and hd wonder, therefore, that the latter. clears out in quick time.— l am, etc., F.V.W.
