FURTHER ADJOURNMENT. In conversation with a Post reporter to-day the Mayor stated that the roster 'and key of the Tramway Union's proposed working scheme had been handed ■to the council by thaf union, and the council's proposed *=paro list handed- to the union. As the roster is a complicated and difficult matter to understand, and. as the union is willing that it may bo- exhaustively considered by the council's officials .before the next* meeting of the conference, it is proposed to adjourn the meeting intended to be held tomorrow night to a date to be fixed suitable to both parties. The Mayor said he could see daylight, and -with the cooperation of the executive of the union, hoped to arrive at a settlement shortly.
