HIGHLAND RIFLES' BAZAAR.

—up OPENED BY HON. T. MACKENZIE. The Wellington Highland Rifles' Bazaar was opened in the Skating Rink, Ingestre-strcet, on 'Saturday evening by the Hon. T. Mackenzie. Despite the exceedingly inclement weather there was a satisfactory attendance. Apologies for non-attendance were received from the Prime Minister and others. During the evening tho Wellington College Rifles performed Maori dances and hakas, the Wellington Guards gave a spectacular military tableau, and the Wellington Pipe Band and Dancers' Club provided reels and Highland dances. Stallholders are as follow : — Blairlogie (art) stall : Mesdames G. Willis, Crammond, and Miss P. Davies ; Bannockbum (produce, sweets, and flower) stall : Mies Ritchie ; Seaforth (fancy) stall : M"esdames J. M'Donald, W. Dobson, and M'lver; tea kiosk: in charge of Mesdames G. M'Gill and Miller j fortunetelling : in charge of Mrs. Aylwin ; shooting gallery : (Privates Miller and Larson ; Aunt Sally : Private Lamb. The hall was happily decorated. The bazaar will be 'continued throughout the week, closing on Saturday next. During that period there will be a repetition of choruses, songs, campfire scenes and military tableaux, Scottish dances, selections by various bands and orchestras, farcical boxing and skating, bayonet fighting, comedy sketches and lightning sketches, the latter by Mr. E. F. Hiscocks.
