Tho quotations aro not for selected lines, but for parcels fairly representative of the bulk of tho shipments now on the market. Tho prices which follow are on an average a farthing per lb more than the values ex ship, this difference representing an average cost in expenses, handling, conveyance, and selling the meat:— New Zeala-r-d Sheep.— Canterbury and Southland, prices unchanged; North Island, Sid; best brands, 4d. Now Zeakmd Lambs. — Canterbury light, sfd; medium, sgd; Southland, net quoted; North Island, 4£d; best brands, sd. New Zealand Beef. — Prices unchanged. Australian Sheep.— Light, 3d; heavy, 2 15-16 d. Australian Lambs. — Best brands, 4£d; fair quality, 3gd; inferior quality, 3|d. Australian Beef. — Prices unchanged. Yesterday's closing quotations were as follow : — Copper.— On spot, £54 15s per ton; threo months', £55 8s 9d; electrolytic, £57 ss. Tin. — On ' spot, £193 per ton ; three months', £188. Lead. — Soft, foreign, £13 5s per ton. Wheat. — A cargo of Australian old wheat sold at 333 6d per quarter and 5500 tons, Sonth Australian, February shipment, at 333 9d. Hemp is steady and unchanged. Copra. — The market ia flat; South Sea, in bags, £25 2s 6d per ton. Cotton. — The Liverpool quotation for middling Upland American cotton is 7.33 d per lb. Rubber.— Fine, hard Para rubber is quoted at 6s lid per lb. Bar silver i 3 quoted at 24 7-16 d per ounce. Antimony.— £9. Quicksilver.— £lo. Tin Plates.— l4s lid and 15s lid. Angle Steel.— £6.
