SUEZ CANAL.
BIGGER REDUCTION IN RATES DEMANDED. By Telegraph.— Preßß Association.— Copyright. LONDON, 18th October. The Morning "Post says shippers arediscontented with the reduction of the Suez Canal rates. to seven and a quarterfrancs per ton, and it is demanded that the rate should be lowered to the five francs per ton which M. De Lesseps promised when the dividend was over 25 per centum. It is reported that the Board of Trade favours the proposal, and that British influence will be used to secune a substantial decrease. The Treasury and. Foreign Office oppose the reduction.
