PARLIAMENT.
TO-DAY'S PROCEEDINGS. LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL. The Council met at 2.30 p.m. The Oamaru Harbour Enabling Bill was reported with amendments. A welcome was extended by the Attor-ney-General to Mr. L. Stowe, Clerk of Parliaments, who has just returned from a trip abroad. On the motion of Hon. T. Thompson the report by the Select Committee on the New Zealand Portland Cement Co., Ltd., Reclamation and Empowering Bill was agreed to. The adjourned debate on the second reading of the Defence Amendment Bill was resumed by Hon. J. R. Sinclair (Otago). (Left sitting.)
