SCHOOL ACCOMMODATION.

TO TilE EDITOB. Sir, — My little boy having become five years of age, I took him last week to the Berhampore school, and was told that the school is crowded at present, and there will not be a vacancy for an infant for tho next two or three months. We all know that the Education Department and most school committees are especially short of funds this year, so we cannot expect increased school accommodation just now; but the committees might help in another way. Children from other school districts are attending the Berhampore school, and I think that the children (at any rate, those from five to seven years of age) of this district should all be accommodated before those, from outside districts are accepted. I know that there are vacancies in some of the city schools, but it is impossible to send a young child 80 far, and it is desirable, for more than one reason, that a young child should bo enabled to attend the school nearast to his hom«r— l un, etc., A PARENT. Biriiampore, 19th July, 1910.
