[UY TELEGBAtH — SPECIAL TO THE POST.] OTAKI, This Day/ Mr. A. D. Thomson, S.M., held' a special sitting of the court yesterday. In the' case Police v. Annie Knocks, it was alleged that defendant refused" to leave licensed premises when requested ' to do so. Defendant was fined £2. The case of the Acclimatisation Society v. Charles Crabbe, was again .brought forward as an appeal against justices' decision recently. Judgment was reserved. William Webber . charged Robert Nicholls with assault, and defendant was fined 10s>. For breaches of the flaxmill award, M'Donald and Beyan had judgment for £2 given against them. The action was brought at the instance of W. J. Culver (inspector of awards). A stray horse was responsible for a serious accident recently to Mr. S. Beyan, who collided with the animal while cycling. His injuries are so serious that he has now been admitted to the hospital. Special memoriam services are to be held here in the various churches on Sunday. A combined service of the Anglican and Methodist Churches will be held on Sunday next in the college grounds.
