Mr. Henry Eliott, the American naturalist, has been killed by a enowslide. Mr. Elliott left £400,000 to a home for friendless children. Mr. Henry Wood Elliott, who was Li his 64th year, was for some time attached to the United States Geological Survey. He was twice appointed special commissioner, under a special Act of Congress, for investigation of the Seal Islands of Alaska, and was tho author of many papers on natural history and scientific subjects.
