At the wool sales there was a large selection of merinos. All sections of the trade are operating. American sorts maintained November rates, top-making sorts reaching 10 per cent, higher. 'At yesterday's sales 8428 bales were offered, including 1118 of excellent New Zealand. There was a large attendance, including many American buyers, and spirited I competition from all quarters. Merinos were firm at full November rates ; fine crossbreds advanced 5 per cent. ; and medium and coarse 10 per cent.
