LAWN TENNIS.

INVITATION DOUBLE TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph.— Press Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, 3rd December. At the lawn tennis invitation double tournament, M. H. Long (the American Davis Cup player) and A. W. Dunlop (Victoria) defeated Rico .and Campbell, 6—4, 6—4, 6—B, B—6. AUSTRALIA v. NEW ZEALAND. The conference between Australia and New Zealand has ended satisfactorily. It would seem from the cable message received that the Australian States and New Zealand will constitute the Australasian Association, New Zealand to have extra representation on the council, the Davis Cup to be held in New Zealand every third year (that is, whilst the Cup is held by Australasia), neither association to resign from the Australasian Association until the Cup is lost by Australasia, and the Junds then remaining to be divided, one-third to go to New Zealand. Professor Hunter, it would appear, is satisfied with the result, and it now appears certain that the Davis Cup will be held in New Zealand next year. That in itself should satisfy the authorities in the Dominion, as it will give the sport a tremendous impetus All that remains to be, done now is for the Australasian Association's constitution to be sufficiently altered to meet" New Zealand's views, and there is no doubt that the States will agree to what has been arranged at ,tho conference.
