The Canadian Parliament has ratified a supplementary treaty with France. It is designed to satisfy the objections of* French agriculturists. Provision is made for its cancellation upon a year's notice, enabling the Dominion to enter a system of Imperial preference when necessary. The trade convention between Canada and France stipulates that French products shall be entitled to lower duties, but must be shipped direct from France or from British ports. ,
