EASTBOURNE BOWLING CLUB.
The Eastbourne Bowling Club was opened for the season on Saturday by the president, Mr. T. Foley. There was a large attendance of members and friends, and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by all. Opportunity was taken to present Mr. H. W. Shortt with the "President's liojvls," won by him last season. Eastbourne's representatives played four visitors from tho Hutt, and were defeated somewhat substantially. The scores were : — Eastbourne : J. Fleming, W. F. Shortt, R. Burch, H. W. Short (s), 13; Efutfc : Knight, M'Gurk, Burt, Hendry (s), 24. A match was played between Eastbourne's A and B teams. A team :H. Foley, R- E- Wood,C. J. Holworthy, B. Weybourne (s), 25;B team : J. Morris, F. J. Chitty, G. Girdlestone, F. Wills (s), 17.
