LABOUR DISPUTES.

THE QUARRYMEN'S ST.RIKE. CLIFTON CASES BEFORE THE COURT. By Telegraph.— Press 'Association.— Copyright. SYDNEY, Ist November. Most of the private quarries about Sydney were idle to-day. In addition to demanding an increase of a shilling a day in wages, the strikers ask for a reduction of the working hours from forty-eight to forty-four per week. The hearing of the cases against the remaining 186 men who absented themselves from work at the South Clifton Colliery was resumed to-day. The strikers have decided not to attend at Court unless kept in custody or supplied with food, declaring they are without means to obtain food, and cannot leave the district to get work because they have to attend at court.
