Lieutenant Typaldos, who headed the recent naval revolt, informed the younger naval officers that the army would participate in establishing a Government capable of radical reforms. Until the crews saw the Sphendone fire at the flagship Psara, and the Psara replying, blowing up the Sphendone's boilers, the majority of the sailors did not realise that an attack upon the fleet was contemplated. They immediately refused to obey the rebels. REFUGEES IN THE MOUNTAINS. BUSINESS AT A STANDSTILL. SUGGESTED SOLUTION OF THE CRISIS. juONDON, Ist November. It is believed at Athens that Lieutenant Typaldos l and other refugees have reached the mountains, and may elude pursuit owing to their local popularity. Business in Athens 'is almost, at a standstill. ' Many believe that khe only solution of the present crisis will be for the King to invite" the Military League to form a Cabinet. The action of the authorities in preventing twenty of Typaldos's confederates from? rejoining their shi]ss largely accounted for the failure of the revolt. The mutinous destroyers on Friday night attempted to escape from Salamis Bay, but the loyal shins of the fleet repulsed them. The olEcers then landed from the destroyers.
