Time, 3min 18sec. All started. Won by a length and a half, four lengths between second and third. Maiden Hack, of 100 soys; seven furlongs. — Meremere, 7.2, 1 ; Waimoa, 7.4, 2; Elfish, 7.7, 3. Won by half a length. A great race between first and second. Time, lmin 29 4-ssec. Scratched — Idealism and Harekoa. King Edward Handicap, of 200 soys j 1£ miles. — Sandstream, 9.0, 1 ; Elysian, 8.5, 2 ; Expansion, 7.11, 3. Scratched — Iney. Won by a length. Half a length between hecond and third. Time, lmiil 56sec. MARLBOROUGH MEETING. FIRST DAY. BLENHEIM, This Day. The Marlborough Racing Club's meeting opened to-day, in tine weather. Results : — Hack Hurdles, li miles.— Aotea, 10.10, 1; Hatley, 9.6. 2; Yosami, 9.3, 3. Won by >a length. Time, 3min isec. Maiden Hack, five furlongs. — Kaiwaka 1, Lady Paul 2, Morisco 3. Scratched — Benlu, Wild v Eyes, and Tainini. Won by a length. Time, lmin 6 2-ssec. Welter Handicap ; seven furlongs. — Glen, 8.11, 1; King Try, 8.2, 2; Twinkle, 8.6, 3. These were the only starters. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 33 2-ssei Blenheim , Handicap, once round. — Gaelic, 7.12, 1; Firbt Mate, 7.7, 2; Lawn Rose, 8.1, 3. Won by four lengths. Time, 2min ssec.
