FIRE AT BROOKLYN.
— ♦ Tho Fire Brigade was called out shortly after 2 o'clock this morning to deal with a fire m an eight-roomed shop and dwelling in Cleveland-street, Brooklyn. The place was occupied by Mr. John Tulloch, who carried on a grocer's business, and is owned by Mrs. R. Lambert. When the city brigade arrived it was found that the Brooklyn Volunteer Brigade had the fire practically under control. Thp part of the building used as a shop was badly damaged, but the residential portion of the building was not seriously affected. The cause of the fire, which originated in the shop, is unknown. Ttiiloch had his effects insured for £250 Hi the Australian Alliance office. The building was also insured.
